The building of the Seaside Open-Air Museum in Ventspils
Where history meets modernity - Seaside Open-Air Museum, Riņķa iela 2, Ventspils.
The Ventspils Seaside Open-Air Museum mission is to collect, preserve, research, and promote the material and intangible cultural heritage of the economic and social life of the Baltic Sea's Kurzeme coastline residents in modern and contemporary times.
The new museum building offers visitors a modern perspective on the daily life of the inhabitants of the Courland coast. The exhibition is complemented by tens of thousands of historical artefacts, as well as an information stand providing visual, interactive, and audio information about the museum's history and exhibits in several languages, including Latvian, English, Estonian, and Lithuanian. The information stand has been specially designed for people with disabilities and includes a tactile map with Braille markings.
The project was developed based on the construction permit issued by the Ventspils City Council's Architecture and Urban Planning Department's Construction Administrative Inspection.
