Building Survey, Office Building “Jēkaba kazarmas”, Torņa iela 4, Riga

Jēkaba kazarmas – 3 brick barracks buildings. Jēkaba kazarmas was built between 1776 and 1780, under the leadership of the city master mason, Johann David Kelmer. Currently, the main use of the building at Torņa iela 4, Riga, is as an office building. The building is a national architectural monument “Jēkaba kazarma, now – a public building” (national protection No. 6603).

Office building at Torņa iela 4, Riga building survey report was prepared in accordance with the order and concluded contract with SIA “Rīgas nami”. In accordance with the Client's task, an in-depth study of the building structures and the development of high-precision 3D survey drawings of the facades, using a point cloud, were carried out with the aim of determining the current technical condition of the main structures of the building and preparing a design brief for the development of a construction project for the reinforcement of the building foundations, load-bearing walls and basement ceiling structures.

When compiling the building survey report, photo fixation of the entire building and individual damaged areas was obtained, and separate drawing sheets with technical survey marks were developed. Exposures of individual load-bearing structures of the building, such as foundations and basement ceilings, were made, and measurements of structural elements were taken at the exposure locations. A survey of the building facades was carried out and 3D survey drawings of the building were prepared using a point cloud.

Within the framework of the building survey, measurements of vertical and horizontal deformations of the building structures were carried out, bricks were removed from the load-bearing walls and their strength was determined using laboratory methods. Calculations of the bearing capacity of the existing structures of the building, the base, foundations, load-bearing walls and columns were carried out and the bearing capacity was determined at the current building loads.

The building survey was carried out in 2021.
